So, picture this, was visiting Edinburgh for the first time, during a trip to Scotland for the first time. On a car meet, so was looking for a chilled out and enjoyable short stay in Edinburgh en-route home.
Used Tripadvisor to narrow down the restaurant selections to a few. Most of the top 20 ones in the vicinity of where we were staying, and in our sort of budget (not v.expensive, max about £40 per person, though we stretched this for this restaurant, BUT WHOLLY WORTH IT) – 10 mins stroll from the Castle, were fully booked!! We only called the night before, that is true! But beware, some restaurant in Edinburgh are not open the days you would expect in England – like a Friday or Saturday night, depending on restaurant. So we were kinda scrabbling around.
Had a taster menu and it was incredible. I don’t like over-farted or over-processsed food. And the food here is just beautiful. Alot of thought went into food combinations. Had a lovely palate cleanser in between courses – raspberry and ginger beer type/ sorbet thing. Non-alcoholic.
Very good service.
I cannot wait to go to Edinburgh again and would definitely try and get to this place again!! Yum.
Loved this restaurant food and service were excellent try the foraged salad if its available will be eating here again next time we visit Edinburgh.
We had the set Lunch menu. Excellent value!
Went for tea here whilst on a weekend break in Edinburgh and loved it! Food is awesome and fantastic quality. Wine list is great and well priced - our £18/£19 white was gorgeous, so too was the desert wine. Service is also fantastic - the waitresses were attentive but not overpowering, polite, courteous and fab at their jobs. Not bad on the eye either!
